Quality of Life:
History
While
affordable housing and a functional business zone may be a
community’s most
immediate needs, an environment that inspires
pride among residents is just
as important. The presence of trees
lining a block, or of parks interrupting
the bustle of city streets, is
often taken for granted. But their absence or
neglect is deeply felt in
a number of Bronx neighborhoods. On its own, and
through
partnerships with other organizations, MPC has long fought for the
preservation of clean streets, buildings and green areas in its
Norwood home
and beyond.
