The Mosholu-Jerome-East Gun Hill Road Business Improvement District (BID), also known as the Jerome-Gun Hill BID is currently one of sixty-seven BID’s throughout New York City and one of nine BIDs in the Bronx. The BID is located in Norwood, and serves one of the most ethnically diverse populations in the city, and continues to be a vibrant retail commercial district. Managed by MPC, the Jerome-Gun Hill Business Improvement District gives support to over 200 businesses within its catchment area, which runs along Jerome Avenue between Mosholu Parkway and East Gun Hill Road and East Gun Hill Road between Jerome and Webster avenues.
The Jerome Gun Hill BID works constantly to keep the area inviting to shoppers through rigorous sanitation, aesthetic improvements, and security services. In addition the Jerome Gun Hill BID throws an Annual Fall Festival which is approaching its 12 year, provides marketing and advertising services to its merchants, decorates the area with holidays lights in the winter and banners in the summer, created a local area map and guide, and has other events such as pictures with the Easter Bunny for the spring and pictures with action hero’s for Halloween. With these, and many more programs, the Jerome-Gun Hill BID contributes to a safe, enjoyable, accessible shopping zone that keeps residents buying in the neighborhood and, consequently, keeps local merchants in operation.
